I have been employed at Maurices for a total of four years. I was first employed at Maurcies in 2008 and I worked there until 2011. I left for two years to focus on my college education. Spring 2013 I was rehired as a full time assistant manager. Being an assistant manager has been a great opportunity. I am given many opportunities to learn the business aspect of sales and marketing.
My duties as an assistant manager are as follows:
- Trained new employees
- Collaborated ideas with other employees
- Interacted with customers and built relationships
- Communicated effectively with customers and employees
Between 2010 and 2013 I worked for a company called Creative Care for Reaching Independence (CCRI). At CCRI I was a personal care assistant to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. This job allowed me to expand my knowledge on different disabilities. It came in handy when studying for my speech and language classes.
My duties as a personal care assistant are as follows:
- Helped client complete daily routines
- Assisted in a nonverbal client's speech and occupational therapy
- Developed a caring relationship with client and her family
